In the heart of Batangas, elegance is about to find its deeper meaning. On March 1, 2026, the Batangas City Convention Center will transform into a vibrant canvas for BARO (Babae. Arte. Ritmo. Obra)—a charity gala fashion show that proves fashion is most beautiful when it serves a cause.
This isn’t just a runway; it’s a tribute to the Outstanding Women of Batangas 2026.
A Fusion of Heritage and Fine Art
The highlight of the afternoon lies in the exquisite craftsmanship of the garments. The gala features modern Filipiniana creations, born from the skilled hands of Taal’s famous seamstresses.
However, these pieces carry a unique twist. Acclaimed Batangueña visual artist Ada Panopio has meticulously hand-painted each garment, turning couture into wearable fine art. Each brushstroke is designed to reflect the core pillars of the Batangueña spirit:
-
Matalino (Intelligent)
-
Marikit (Beautiful)
-
Magiting (Courageous)
-
Matapang (Brave)
By merging traditional embroidery with evocative contemporary painting, BARO celebrates women as both the keepers of our heritage and the architects of our future.

Fashion with a Mission
While the spotlight will shine on the art and the honorees, the true heart of BARO lies in its advocacy. The event is a major fundraiser for Soroptimist International Batangas Downtown (SIBD).
The Goal: All proceeds will benefit the ATE (Access to Education) Fund, dedicated to women’s empowerment, leadership development, and community upliftment.
This ensures that the glamour witnessed on the runway translates into real-world opportunities for women throughout the province, proving that art can—and should—inspire action.

BARO is more than a fashion show; it is a declaration. It is a reminder that when we honor women, we aren’t just celebrating the past—we are committing to a future where their voices and influence are amplified.
Mark your calendars for March 1st. Witness the moment where tradition meets progress, and where every silhouette tells a story of purposeful change.
