Bob Marlon, formally known as Marlon Abag Carriedo, is making a mark in the music scene with his versatile skills as a singer, musician, composer, songwriter, music producer, and arranger. The stage is set for his debut concert on April 5, 2024, under the banner of Balisong Records, coupled with the release of his single “Sa Tamang Panahon.” Reflecting on the belief that each person has their opportune moment to shine, Bob Marlon designates April 5 as the ideal time for you to witness his concert, seamlessly aligning with the thematic essence of his single.  Prior to this musical spectacle, Bob Marlon unveils his journey in an interview with VJ Ella of Balisong Channel. Despite his Manila roots, Bob Marlon proudly identifies as a Batangueño, hailing from Banaba South in Batangas City. Bob Marlon’s journey into the world of music began in high school when he discovered his love for the art. Despite lacking a musical background in his family, he took a bold step by joining a singing contest and emerged victorious, securing the third spot. This marked the beginning of his musical exploration.

Fueling his passion, Bob Marlon immersed himself in choirs and bands, initially starting on the guitar before transitioning to bass and finally finding his niche as a keyboardist. His thirst for musical experiences drove him to participate in competitions like Battle of the Bands during his high school years.

While in college, Bob Marlon broadened his artistic skills by exploring dancing, acting, and theatre. Despite these ventures, his commitment to music remained steadfast. He sought formal training in vocal music at a school of music and later joined his inaugural band as a keyboardist in 2004.

Bob Marlon’s journey extended beyond borders, as he took his talents to South Korea from 2006 to 2010 and Thailand from 2011 to 2012. His commitment to music composition flourished, prompting a temporary hiatus from live performances.

After a well-deserved break, Bob Marlon made a pivotal move by auditioning for The Elements Music Camp. This moment proved transformative, enhancing his musical prowess and setting the stage for the next chapter of his career. Subsequently, he lent his talents to the TV5 TV Series, Wattpad Presents, where he composed music on a weekly basis.

Following his successful stint in television, Bob Marlon returned to live performances, balancing the energy of the stage with his songwriting endeavors. This period marked a dynamic phase in his career, where he not only showcased his love for creating music but also emphasized himself as the primary source of inspiration for his compositions.

Bob Marlon expressed heartfelt gratitude to his fans for their unwavering support, particularly for his performances of cover songs. While still engaging in live performances, he is now shifting his focus to producing and performing his original compositions, having successfully written 20 songs during his hiatus drawing inspirations from his own experiences and other people’s stories.

In a message to aspiring artists, Bob Marlon encouraged them never to lose confidence in their work. He emphasized the importance of pursuing one’s passion and acknowledged the initial challenges every artist faces. Drawing from his own experiences, he highlighted the significance of continuous improvement through learning and gaining valuable experience.
